The Challenge
The Project Green Challenge (PGC) is one of the world's largest youth sustainability competitions, organized by Turning Green. With over 8,000 participants globally, it challenges students to develop actionable solutions for environmental issues. Aarush set out to create a toolkit that would make climate action accessible and structured for schools and communities.
The Project
Aarush designed the "Carbon Conversations & Community Action Toolkit" to help schools and communities organize structured climate action. The toolkit provides frameworks for measuring carbon footprints, facilitating community discussions, and implementing actionable sustainability initiatives.
Over 5 months, Aarush developed his CAP (Climate Action Project), refining it through mentorship and hands-on experimentation. He built a dedicated project website at carbonconversations.netlify.app and prepared his presentation for the international stage.
The Result
Aarush was selected as 1 of 14 global finalists from over 8,000 participants worldwide. He represented India and GG International School at the PGC 2025 Final Summit in San Francisco (November 19-24, 2025), where he gave a Climate Leadership Award presentation.
He ultimately secured 3rd position with a $500 cash award, gaining invaluable hands-on opportunities through Turning Green's internship program that followed his success.
